Summary:   George Kauth and Catharine Burger were a couple that lived in Stetten, Germany and had 9 children. They have many living descendants; I hope to make a complete count in the future. Surnames include Juckett, Gilman, Eldridge, Kohl, Ottmer, Pfeffer, Killeen, Caspary, Trost, Daul, Weber, Rein, Smith, Bavlnka, Steepy, Brown, and Dums.


Objectives: The goal for the Kauth Surname Project is to identify which Kauth families are related. This project can also:

Surname Variations: All surname variations are welcome to participate, such as Kouth and Kaut.


Participation. If you are interested in participating, you can order an STR test kit from YSEQ, order a Y-DNA test kit from FamilyTreeDNA, or learn more about ordering. If you are unable to participate (because you are not a male with the surname Kauth) you can sponsor a test for someone else or help recruit new participants.

Financial Information:   The Kauth Surname Project is a private undertaking for personal interest. This is not a commercial venture. No remuneration is received by any of the participants nor the project director. Participants are responsible for the purchase of a DNA test kit from YSEQ, Family Tree DNA, or another company that provides Y-DNA testing (Ancestry.com does not). If funds become available in the future, reimbursements for testing shall be made on the basis determined by the body donating such funds or project lead.
